Brew #19: ??? Need Suggestions

Filed under: Homebrew Journal by Joe @ 10:43 pm

If you check out the inventory post, you’ll see that I have a good amount of options. I have enough dark ingredients to make a dark brew, maybe a stout or a porter. But I also have the nut brown and dark amber option. Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. nut brown. i say celebrate the coming of spring with a beer as un-winter as possible. too bad you’re not making a wheat ale or something like that.

  2. mmmm nut brown. i would say make a stout, but that’s only because that’s pretty much all i like. heh. i think paul’s suggestion of making something as un-winter as possible is a good one… i see how stouts are not very spring-like; too much like a warm, wintery stew, yea?

  3. Although I enjoyed your last nut brown attempt, I would say wheat would definitely go better with the season.

  4. Thanks for the suggestions. First, the last batch I made was a wheat, second, if you look at my ingredients I don’t have enough wheat for a wheat ale so yea. I’m leaning towards doing a nut brown.
