Judy Bachrach, a contributing editor for Vanity Fair magazine, blindsides Brigitte Quinn of Fox News when she’s brought on to comment on Bush’s inauguration and instead of placating Fox News gives them a piece of her mind. Moments like this are priceless.

If you want to download an mp3 of it I’ve taken the liberty of hijacking it.

This is pretty sweet. Mike Matas has come up with a really easy way to make a 20 x 30 poster of many different photos using iPhoto. (Thanks John!)

Can’t say I disagree one bit with this. Here’s a snippet:

“Face it, Grammy: You’ve got a lame track record. You gave a heavy-metal Grammy to Jethro Tull over Metallica. You nominated Fountains of Wayne for Best New Artist—after they’d been performing for eight years. Milli Vanilli. And here’s just a brief list of the nobodies who’ve never received one of your chintzy trophies: Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Neil Young, Guns N’ Roses, and that raunchy little indie band from England, Led Zeppelin.”

It’s like snowing and stuff. Oh and my apartment is shaking. Pretty sweet.

“Sunday…Snow…Heavy at Times in the morning with blizzard conditions…Then tapering off to flurries late. Total snow accumulations of 18 to 30 inches”

Update: 11;30 am Sunday – The National Weather Service in Taunton issued an urgent bulletin today to warn people to stay home. “If you leave the safety of being indoors, you are putting your life at risk,” the message said.

Something is very, very wrong when a cartoon like Spongebob Squarepants is criticized for encouraging tolerance and diversity. I’m really at a loss on this one. I mean the title of this article is “Christians issue gay warning on SpongeBob video.” It doesn’t get any more ridiculous sounding than that. I love this line:

“SpongeBob, who lives in a pineapple under the sea, was ‘outed’ by the U.S. media in 2002…”

lol, he lives in a pineapple under the sea in case anyone was wondering! Frickin awesome!

“Using the same principle as an ink-jet printer, experts are able to take skin cells from a patient’s body, multiply them, then print out a tailor-made strip of skin, ready to sew on to the body. The wound’s dimensions are entered into the printer to ensure a perfect fit.”

Man I bet a “cell” cartridge would cost an arm and a leg (you could just print another one though).

Nic here. I don’t know what strange trail of links led me to this page, but here’s a page that breaks down top ‘love songs’ into categories. One entertaining category is “Liking a Woman and Liking Her Sister As Well” (”Debra” by Beck).

One addition I’d make is: “Love songs involving robots”, with One More Robot/Sympathy (Flaming Lips) being top of the list. Any other additions?

“A computer program is changing the face of the music business by allowing record labels to predict a hit at the click of a mouse. Is this the death of pop as we know it, asks Jo Tatchell, or a new hope for unsigned bands everywhere?”

Alright everyone, check out the Shadowkings site (http://www.theshadowkings.com). I normally don’t start promoting a site til it’s fully functional (I hate sites that say “coming soon”) but I want to start generating some traffic as I slowly get the rest of it up. I’m going to add a streaming media section next.

The Shadowkings are a house style dance music group that have been moving dancers for years. I have recently joined the group as a keyboardist and also help with the production of our tracks. Like I said, there’s no audio on the site yet, but check back in a week or so. I’ll update the post when it’s up. Also, if anyone has any good tricks for getting good rankings in google searches, let me know. I don’t want to just fill the pages with hidden text (that’s lame). Oh yea, and feel free to link to us. Peace!

This is too good to not share. I came across this DVD at Hollywood Video and laughed outloud when I read the back which says:

“No sitting president since Abraham Lincoln has talked as much about God as George W. Bush, and none has so boldly, publicly, and genuinely lived out his faith on the job. As the leader of the free world, Bush bears an enormous responsibility, and its weight drives him to his knees…in prayer and supplication.

Says BBC correspondent Justin Webb, “Nobody spends more time on his knees than George W. Bush. The Bush administration hums to the sound of prayer. Prayer meetings take place day and night. It’s not uncommon to see White House functionaries hurrying down corridors carrying Bibles.”

This powerful program is a unique insider’s look at how one man’s dedication to prayer and the daily application of God’s word transformed his life and leadership. His dependence upon God gave him the clarity of vision and quiet confidence needed to lead us through the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the ensuing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

My only question is when can I get the Special Edition box set with Baby’s First Bible and Speak and Spell Speech Writer?

A school in Georgia put stickers in science text books stating:

“This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.”

“Science and religion are related and they’re not mutually exclusive,” school district attorney Linwood Gunn said. ”This sticker was an effort to get past that conflict and to teach good science.”

Good science? As apposed to the bad kind? Riiight. How about the fact that religion is based on beliefs (there’s um not really um much proof and stuff) and science is based on fact.

Great article about Joe White (of Change the Climate), who’s battling a smart attack on the ridiculous drug policies in this country. He picks his fights carefully and makes headlines that get the message across. These laws are so fucking stupid! They just won a court battle with the MBTA in Boston who were trying to ban their ads from the subway.

They poster buses and subways with ads like:

“Enjoy better sex! Legalize and tax marijuana.”
“Why do kids go to jail for doing what politicians did when they were young? Tell us the truth.”
“5.2 million marijuana arrests since 1992. It cost you $4.5 billion. Is it really worth it?”

My favorite part:

“Change the Climate-with the ACLU’s legal support-celebrated George W. Bush’s inauguration by placing 560 pro-marijuana reform ads on Washington Metro buses and subway stations. Initially, the Metro rejected Change the Climate’s submission, but they backed down when we threatened to sue, and they realized they’d lose in court.”

Update: A gem from the Change the Climate site:

” According to Brown (1997:40): “When young people recognize that they are being taught to follow directions, rather than to make decisions, they feel betrayed and resentful. As long as federal mandates force this charade, drug education programs and policies will continue to fail.”
