Good article about the recent porn talk in the Senate a couple weeks ago.

I agree that we should fund more generalized studies then just addiction. I mean seriously, other than someone’s family or friends, who suffers from someone being addicted to porn? I’m curious to see what will come of this.

Microsoft, you know that company with the fancy software they stole from Apple, has decided to allow pirated copies of Windows to be traded in for a legit copy. I’ll stick to my pirated copy thank you very much.

My friend Kevin’s brother is seriously injured. He’s a ranger in the army. I won’t even get into how pissed off I am about this. Michael is a strong guy, he’ll pull through.

Michael passed away this morning in a hospital in Germany. :( His family was with him.

I brewed an IPA kit today. Here’s the rundown.

Ingredients:

2 cans Amber LME
1 lb Crystal grain
1 oz Chinook hop pellets
1 oz Cascade hop pellets
.5 oz Heavy Toasted Oak chips
1 vial Irish Ale yeast

Steeped Crystal grain in 1.5 gallons of water, bringing to boil; removed grains. Poured in 2 cans of Amber extract and added Chinook pellets. Boiled for 40 minutes and added the Cascade pellets for the last 2 minutes of boil. Added wort to 3 gallons of cold water in large carboy. Pitched yeast and added Oak chips.

This is soo cool. This is a “game” for the Game Boy Advanced that’s a multitrack sequencer using 8 bit synthesized instruments. Here’s just some of the features.

  • 8 voice synthesizer – rectangular (square) wave with different pulse widths and LP/HP filters, ADS envelope, and filtered noise
  • 8 track sequencer – editable parameters:volume, pitch, filter/modulation, gate length, offset, panning
  • Trigger sounds with buttons
  • There’s even a way to dump the song to your computer as audio. Now I can finally rescore Zelda with style…

Here’s a sample clip from the website

California is pissed that their roads are getting tore up by people who aren’t paying as much gas tax because they’re smart and bought energy effecient vehicles. Their idea? The more you drive, the more you’re taxed. That would require being tracked with some type of GPS device. Riiiight.

“It’s a looming problem as hybrids become more popular, and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s government-reform commission has come up with a solution: Tax motorists based on the miles they drive, not the amount of gas they consume.”

I posted about this place a while back and went there a couple times. It was really cool, souped up Alienware machines running the best graphics cards and games available. Well, my dad and I were going to kill some time there and all that was left was the wiring in the middle of the room.

It really sucks that there’s no where to go play games anymore. I mean I know we all have X-boxes and Playstations but I miss the arcade days. :’(

The government has no right to demand personal information from the airlines. The security provided by their system of blacklists is fatally flawed and only makes it easier for terrorists to bypass. This study done at MIT shows:

“that under the CAPS system a terrorist can reduce his chance of arrest to a level lower than a system that uses random search. This means that when security personnel conduct their second level search of passengers flagged by CAPS, they actually have a reduced probability of apprehending a terrorist carrying weapons or explosives. Since random searches can catch more terrorists, airport security cannot therefore legitimately establish that those passengers flagged by CAPS have an enhanced likelihood of harm.”
